I'm not Jewish, but I love me some latkes.

Potatoes in general, actually. But when they're fried, and smothered in applesauce and Tofutti sour cream, I'm in heaven.

Tonight, I made this recipe, and it was my first time making them. It was tough.. especially shredding all of the potatoes. It was super easy to follow, though, and I can't wait to do it again :)

free barbecue?!

I got this lovely charcoal barbecue for free from freecycle! It had definitely been well loved (the meat grease covering it proved that). So I took some delightful orange essence cleaner to it with a wire sponge. It was beautiful and shiny when I was done - well worth the ten mile round trip drive. ANYWAY, my man & I made a delicious, perfect end of summer barbecued dinner. On the top rack we have sweet corn in husk (obviously), and honey soaked peaches. On the bottom, on bamboo skewers, are lovely little cubes of chili marinated tofu. I am now addicted to grilling :)

i love food.

sustenance, munchables, tummy filla, taste bud tango, grub.

i would consider myself a good cook, and adventurous as a vegetarian can be. i follow food blogs. i love trying new (often odd) dishes, and my boyfriend has become more audacious in his palette ventures. so, so proud :')

so! this name for this blog came to me one night when i was 'not all there' with a friend. i was trying desperately to find a word that meant a food item was large in flavor, and that i was fully prepared to grub on it. feastial is the vocabulary lovechild of beastial and feast. beastial to represent the size of flavor, and feast to represent what i'm gonna do to this food.

this is my place to post my cooking adventures, and to showcase amazing cooks in my life.
